Are you ambidextrous?

I was reading somewhere the other week that it is good to have both sides of your brain working equally, so I decided to try and "become" ambidextrous"

I have been very successful in this endeavour spending most of my spare time praticising my writing which is pretty good if I do say so myself.
I mentioned what I was doing to someone today and their question was "why bother?"

Well.... maybe I have too much time on my hands:)

Anyway, now that I have joined the ambidextrous elite, I want to know how many are in my club.

I can type with both hands at the same time. Seriously though, no I am not but I am double jointed, which I think is more impressive.

Yes. I am left handed but was forced in school to use my *good* hand... that caused alot of misery for me. I still write with my right hand and do things like peeling spuds etc with my left. I can write with my left as well.

Same thing with me. I was left handed and was forced to use my right hand. I write with my right hand for the most part unless it's more convenient to use my left. Tend to sign my name with my left though. Not on purpose. Just something I noticed. Use my left hand for everything else too.

One of my children is. When he started writing in school he used to pass the pencil from one hand to the other trying to get comfortable with the pencil. It took him a long time for him to figure out what suited him.
I found it strange because it just seems natural to me to do everything with my right hand. it's amazing how many people notice and pass comment on it too.

I write with my left hand but can do anything with both hands without thinking about it.I'd say after a small bit of practice I could write perfectly with my right hand too.

I write left handed, play tennis left handed, play guitar and golf right handed. I kick equally as bad off both feet, am I ambidextrous? or well able to adapt to any situation?

Nope, definitely not. Right handed all the way.

you'd probably be better at guitar and golf if you used both hands for them

I smashed up the fingers on my right hand pretty badly a few years ago and was in a cast for months. I wouldn't have the same strength in it as I used to so I find myself opening jars and carrying stuff with my left hand but I still write with my right.

I'm 50% ambidextrous, great at everything with my right hand but very little with my left hand.

Apparently I'm "multi-handed", where I can do certain things with my left hand and others with my right, eg. write with my left and throw with my right.

Personally however, I think that's a load of me arse. If someone asks, I just tell them I'm left handed. I think whatever hand you write with decides what "hand" you are.

Seems it's mostly left handers. I am left handed too, maybe it's our way of trying to fit in a right handed world:/

I'm ambipodextrous (I just made that word up)

I can kick and pass a ball with my left foot as good as my right.

Somewhat. I can write poorly with my left hand (used to be better, haven't done it in years though), and I can box southpaw and orthodox, and play golf and snooker with both hands equally badly.

I remember spending hours in primary school trying to "train" my left hand to write (not because I had to or anything, I was just bored and figured I would get my homework done quicker if I could write with both hands at once :P). Tried writing with my left hand again recently after having this conversation with a friend... it's legible, but I definitely wouldn't sign any important documents / write in an exam with it!

I noticed a couple of years ago that I always pick up a pen with my right hand (I never pick one up with my left, I actually juggle stuff from one hand to the other if I have to, without even realising most of the time).
Oh and I type with both hands, but my right is a bit quicker so I occasionally have letters on the left side of the keyboard in the wrong place in a word.

I imagine being ambidextrous would come in handy sometimes.

    I'll get my coat.

Used to be able to write perfectly with my left hand but haven't tried in years, I'd imagine that's not something that goes away though so I'm gonna say I am.
