    Hello everyone!
We are producing a play set in Belfast in the 1980s which will be performed for a week in Dublin in June 2012. Though we are all from Dublin we are now based in London so organising some of the costumes and sets etc is a bit tricky from over yonder. We are looking for army fatigues, webbing and helmets for two guys who will play British soldiers in the play. We know the fatigues of the Irish and British Army are a different colour green but we're hoping people will 'suspend their disbelief' in this instance as getting British uniforms across on the ferry might prove to be a chore! The production will be fully insured with a stage manager. If anyone has any suggestions we would be ever so grateful. When we produced the show in the UK the TA very kindly loaned us kit so we were wondering would the Reserve Forces back hom to the same. All thoughts very welcome. Thank you!

Legally, you are creating a minefield for yourself. you best option would likely be to contact the Defence Forces Press Office, not people on the internet. http://www.military.ie/press-office

You are most likely better off using the British uniforms. It is legal to possess and/or own a British uniform, it is not legal to possess an Irish one. Doing so without permission may constitute a theft offence.*

Legally, you may wear the British uniform, but only for the duration of the play.

    * You may also be heckled by those in the know for wearing the wrong uniform.

Thanks for that info. We'll try and organise something from this side again. Cheers!
