    Hi
Any reason why a new Tesco sim won't let me save any numbers to the sim with my old Nokia 6230i -year 2006, but will with a newer Nokia N82-year 2008.

Have you tried saving them to phone memory then transferring them over to the SIM?

Just from the user guide [PDF], page 53:
    Copy contacts
Search for the contact you want to copy, and select Options > Copy.
You can copy names and phone numbers from the phone contact
memory to the SIM card memory, or vice versa. The SIM card memory
can save names with one phone number attached to them.

I can save to phone memory, but once saved I can't copy to SIM. If I set the phone book to use both SIM and Phone together. The number will be saved, but only to the phone.

P.S. Tried O2 SIM in phone and had same problem, can save to phone but not to SIM.

dohouch did you ever find an answer to this?

I am having the same problem. I've over 100 contacts on my ancient nokia, I can't copy from nokia phone to tesco sim and new phone is locked so won't accept the nokia / o2 sim.

I really don't want to have to manually enter my contacts into my new phone and want to contact them to let them know my new number. Grrrr

Sorry it's so far back I can't remember if or how I got around the problem. I certainly didn't enter all manually, I'd remember that. I now have my contacts synced with Gmail, but don't think this is possible any more as Gmail no longer support MfE or Active Sync for new non-Android phones.

You don't say what you new phone is. I think it may be possible to back up Contacts from a Nokia to MS Skydrive and then back down to a Windows phone.
