UPC recording question.

Sorry if this is an obvious question/suggestion but I've read the manual and there doesn't seem to be anything about it

My issue is as follows. Like many of you I assume you've experienced occasions where your box is filled up 100% which then leads to household 'discussions' about which recordings to delete (rarely with consensus) in order to free up some recording space

So specifically, is there any setting on the standard DVR UPC provide to tell it in the event that it drops below a certain user specified percentage free space to simply proceed with deleting the oldest stored program currently on the box.

eg if the free space drops below 10% then the machine can automatically start deleting those programs that have been sitting on the box since last November (that no one seems to know about or that ‘I’m getting round to watching it’ etc), regardless if they've been watched yet?

    Thanks.

I have the HD box -- you can request it to automatically delete the oldest programmmes and you can protect the ones you don't want to delete. You need to go into the settings of the DVR and sort it from there on the space management tab. Press the yellow button to protect the programmes you don't want deleted.

You can get the manuals for all UPC boxes here http://www.upc.ie/customer_support/manuals/
