    Hey lads.
Was installing a fta box for a neighbour but when finished and testing channels some were missing.this confused me because right beside was a sky hd box working perfectly.tested signal with my meter and it was almost 100%,changed lnb anyway but problem persisted.

Brought the box to my own house and to my surprise it worked perfectly.
Went through some transponders on transponder list while setting up in neighbours and some were very weak.in my house they were perfect.nothing obstructing dish,2 working lnb tried several cables all with perfect signal tried but no luck.have literally tried everything.

Which were the weak transponders at the neighbours' house? What FTA receiver are you using?

did you try the fta box on the sky hd box connections?

(disconnect the hd box from the dish and install the fta box in its place)

Did the problematic house have a wall socket for the LNB connection?

No,ran the cables in myself straight from dish to box.all 3 cables give great signal on meter and all work perfectly in sky box.transponders near the end of the scan are weak.
Even ran another new cable down from dish in through window directly to box just in case, same result.

What make/model FTA box are you using? Are the weak tps watchable? Did you check their signal levels on the Sky box rather than just checking the default tp used for the strength/quality display?
