They used to anyway, cant remember the rate though. Contact your local office or ask the driver at your loca stop.

NO - Bus Eireann very wisely gave up this useful service some years ago.

While in NI Ulsterbus/Translink offer a parcel service - joined up thinking my.....

I know its a pain for the driver, but do you think it would depend on the driver? Its a mothers gift :)

    Translink.

Local delivery rate is £5.11 for up to 5Kg. Delivery to ROI starts at £21.

Does that sound like someone in ROI wants a very large slice of the pie?

Actually drivers are not permitted to carry any parcel for anybody... but, if you ask really nicely and grease the wheels, you never know. ;-)

Yes, that would probably be the courier company whom take it onwards from the Translink bus.

I see Translink charge from £19 for cross channel parcels; somebody in mainland UK wants a very large slice of the pie.

Maybe if you had it in a bag you could put it in the boot of the bus, then as long as your friend at the other end knew what kind of a bag it was, they could get it when the bus arrives.

Any idea who it is? Considering Fastway will deliver 30Kg for a fiver, I think Translink need to shop around.

I've no idea who their local agent is to be honest. Perhaps the parcels need a customs checks which would justify a higher fee for handling etc but that's only a guess as to why it may be.

My mammy sent up a small package with the bus driver a few months ago. It was my phone and I got it sent from Mayo to Dublin. My mammy's excellent at persuasion though..

And if the driver spotted you putting it in you'd have no chance of sweet talking him.. And if he saw someone else attempting to remove a bag from the boot there'd be a lot of explaining to do, probably to the gardi.
