    Hi There

I am in the market for a Macbook pro but cant decide which one to go for however I have narrowed it down to two possibles.

    15-inch: 2.2 GHz

    • 2.2GHz quad-core
      Intel Core i7
    • 4GB 1333MHz
    • 500GB 5400-rpm1
    • Intel HD Graphics 3000
    • AMD Radeon HD 6750M with 512MB GDDR5
    • Built-in battery (7 hours)2
    13-inch: 2.8 GHz

    • 2.8GHz dual-core
      Intel Core i7
    • 4GB 1333MHz
    • 750GB 5400-rpm1
    • Intel HD Graphics 3000
    • Built-in battery (7 hours)2

I am thinking about upgrading either machiner to 8gb and if I get the 15" upgrading to the 750gb 7200rpm.

I will be usuing it to run programmes like photoshop, logic, protools, office etc etc.

Besides the screen is there a massive difference in the two machines in terms of performance. Are the upgrades nessisary or could I make better ones.

I want a laptop that will last me long into the future. Any adive would be highly appreciated.

I have a 13" macbook pro and it's a perfect size in a portability sense. I wouldn't go with anything bigger if I was moving it around a lot. It has more memory which is useful but probably not necessary .... Also I've used the 15" one and I find it to be far too big if you want to just do some light browsing while lying down or whatever but it depends on what you need it for. One thing to note is that with lion you can have multiple desktops running at the same time which vastly increases the space available so therefore there is ample working space on the 13" in case that is what you are worried about. I'm not entirely sure how much faster a quad core is over the dual core, i'm still on a core 2 duo :-( still runs pretty quick though.
