FFS here we go again rabble rabble :

Bank Of Ireland CEO overpaid last year. Government puts a cap on their ass's to the sum of no more than 500K.

BOI CEO gets paid over 600k+ & on top of this 150k+ on his pension / bonus :

    Link = http://www.rte.ie/news/2012/0315/boi-business.html

    Quote :

Bank of Ireland's chief executive Richie Boucher was paid €623,000 last year, however his total remuneration package came to €831,000.

The bank's annual report shows that he was awarded €690,000 but waived €67,000 of that.

A spokesperson for the bank said the arrangement had been agreed with the former Minister for Finance Brian Lenihan.

The spokesperson said Mr Boucher's core salary was €500,000, which was within the Government's salary cap. He was paid a further €123,000 as pension cash allowance for waiving his right to retire at the age of 55, the spokesperson said.

She added the salary for Mr Boucher was the same as in 2010.
Mr Boucher also received a contribution to his pension of €174,000 from the bank. He received other remuneration of €34,000 which can cover car allowance, club membership and benefits in kind.

Bank of Ireland also said today that its Annual General Court meeting (AGM) will be held in UCD on April 24.

    =================================================

FFS the governemt bailed out BOI and owns something like 25% of this bank. Our tax money is paying this F**Kers wages.

I'm delighted to see that Ireland has learned from it's mistakes in the past hasn't changed 1 F****g bit.

So folks our tax money is paying this guys wages. They are ignoring the cap the government have set and why is this ??

Well - that's what happens when you don't throw people like Seanie into prison. The bankers look at this and see that they can simply continue to get away with it and that nothing will ever come of it.

    Disgusting

Sure he deserves it, he has to travel in from Wiclow or somewhere like that most afternoons.

Although this sounds like a complete and utter cop-out, employment law means that his salary can't be reduced unless he agrees to it.

And he can't be fired unless he's doing a crap job.

And he can't be made redundant.

Once again, we've been hamstrung by FF cronyism and incompetence from their tenure in Government.

We really are such a tolerant bunch of people to not be out causing mayhem on the streets at this sort of sh1t. We do just turn the other cheek and accept more and more slaps in the face.

    Remember this???
We, the Irish taxpayers, were paid in excess of €1bn by private investors for most of the state's stake in BOI. We are not the majority owners, and it's no longer our money that's funding the bank. If you want to play the whole moral outrage card then maybe check your facts before posting a load of rubbish.

The Government only owns 15% of Bank or Ireland. For all intents and purposes it is privately owned company, and is entitled to pay it's staff whatever the hell it likes. The Government retaining a 15% stake was utterly pointless, as it means we no longer have any right to interfere in management decisions or policies. It also means that we are no longer funding the bank (although selling all of our stake would have made more sense).

If there really was a will to make him resign he could be pressured out of his position, or at least pushed into taking terms. But that won't happen. I wish I was a rich corrupt old man, I'd seriously be having the craic.

I really couldn't care.I left boi ages ago(they shut down my account after i paid back my cc balance) .I only deposit a few euros per month into my ulster account. And savings go into the gfs pocket.
Instead of complaining about boi why dont people do something about it.

Then again there there would be NO BOI in existence at present be it the taxpayers money bailing them out, now, and probably for the next 20 years. Maybe I am on another planet! ( or just wish I was ).

    What can we do ??
The attitude of the Irish is disgusting.

As you can clearly see even a poster above ( blackwhite ) has taken the side of the banks over the people themselves.

With attitudes like that nothing will change, it will only get worse until a revolution kicks off.

What the fcuk does his salary have to do with you? Fcuk off to England and complain about Premiership footballers wages as that has more to do with you than this.

Fair play to him is what I say, he has kept BOI independent and the majority share in private hands, he is well worth his wage.

I really don't get this wage envy bollox, most us are in the top 2% earners in the world, so enjoy it and let those in the developing world write threads like.

Irish greedy fkucers crib about a fair household charge when they earn on average 35000 euros ayear.

    WE SOLD OUR MAJORITY STAKE.
It's not that hard to understand, if we don't own it then we don't have any right to tell them what to do.
Are you really so stupid that you can't understand that simple concept?
No sides here, simply what the facts of the matter are
