    :D
I want to get mine done but cant decide what method to go with..

My dentist who is great does it but at a whopping €300 and something if not even more which I just cant afford at the moment anywho.

Then I have seen all these deals come through for the laser whitening!! But I dont know anyone who has got this done.

Then there is the online or in the shops buy a whitening pack. Darn mum cousin told me a name of one her friends used but I cant think of it now...

So what if you have done it which method did you go for and was it worth it.. Im kinda scared as im using this flouride paste to strenghting my teeth and I dont want to do anything to counter act this..Sounds silly but ya know

I got mine lasered last year with one of the deals. You have to make sure you have no problems with your teeth and have them cleaned in your dentist within six months before you get them lasered for best results. While I did think they were whiter afterwards they weren't as white as I hoped (maybe I wanted a miracle as I smoked) Getting them done was ok, not painful at all although my sister thought it was. Have a friend who couldn't eat and was in agony with her teeth being really sensitive aferwards but I experienced nothing like that.
I wouldn't get it done again. I just get my teeth cleaned in dentist and use eucryl powder 2/3 times a week and am happy with mine.
    But that's just me!
Let us know how you get on.

    Hi

Ah i be a smoked too not too many nearly off them now but still i hate the stains..

Fecks sake my friends smoke a ton more than me and they still have there pearly whites.

thank you for replying, see that sensitvie stuff id say id get caught with now.. So maybe not laser them, perhaps the best is the option with the dentis...

I would say so your best bet is the dentists if you have the money. Ring around other clinics to check prices, my old dentist told me he did it for 800e and I rang around and could have got the same thing for 300, that was about 4 years ago now.
Dentists go mad over the laser.:o Have a look at the dental issues thread. There are nearly always threads about it. And even though I read all the bad stuff I still did it, lol.

I have tried two "at home" teeth whitening kits and have found them both excellent.

One was iWhite which you use for 5 days for 20 minutes and I noticed a dramatic improvement.

The other was Whizzer Whitening Strips which are similar to the Crest strips but with less acid content. I found these great for a top up job.

Recently I had my laser teeth whitening treatment at just $117. So I think you should prefer this treatment because it’s much effective than any teeth whitening kit.

Hello, ah i was very tempted my sis was on and tis 249.00 to get them done in the dentis in holland..I am actualy going to ring my one again here and see what her best price is for it... I was very tempted sorry that is where i started to by the Whizzer ones the other day but i think they scare me more than the laser or the dentist, i would be so afriad i would damage them..

There is a lot of different types of bleaching, results will vary especially when it comes to longevity. Dentists prescribed bleaching is what is advised, don't put any DIY bleach in your mouth, you will find some cases in the UK where people have been badly damaged and burned with ebay bleach and the like.

Would second the above - know a few people who had bad results and even if you don't, you will still never achive an even result all round and so will eventually go along to a dentist in time.

I got the Kor Whitening technique done in a Dublin clinic - would recommend it.

Not sure how many do it here, but sure Google will throw up a few.

A couple of family members are investigating teeth whitening at the moment. One has used one of these coupon offers, dirt cheap. Turned out to be a chemist shop who basically gave you the stuff and let you get on with it yourself in a little area in the shop, a real DIY job. A very disappointing service. We are waiting to see how the "treatment" has improved the colour of the teeth. I was going to try it but now I'm having second thoughts.

The Kor Whitening looks great alright but shame there doesn seem to be any on Cork, I shall google some more then..Can you get the whitening strips like the whizzer in the shops then. I heard of the crest ones but they only sell online..

I am still waiting Fingers crossed ill get them done for my birthday. Holland didnt work out too great, it seemed something similiar to the White Glow or sorry smile bright. I see is it boots do a take home version of it. Just incase anyone was thinking of quick fix ones also I tried that daft pearl drops (what i thought was a kinda bleach gel) but it was more like a tip ex pen. You brush it on your teeth and tis suppose to make them look whiter at €10.00 tis rubbish, thank good Boots were nice enough to take it back

Okey so i have a month till my 30th and this is what i want for my birthday...I know it is probably annoying to ask now as I should really look it up myself but there are just so many things to go through...What are the pros and cons of getting the laser teeth whitening to the dentis side of it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,658 ✭✭✭Milly33

Rite I am back.. As of yesterday I have new whiter teeth. I went with the dentist in the end after hearing a few scary stories about burning gums and all that goes and I am so fearfull if anything went wrong.

It was the Zoom whitening, the one with the light to speed things up. €350 for three 15min sessions, and then mouth guards (which I must wait for as they got a bit messed up) and two nights home whitening gel. Not too bad really it was a lot more expensive..

Pain wise there was nothing. One jab of sensitive pain while the light was on them, and afterwards there were a few jabs alrite but nothing that one could not handle. Very pleased with the results, they have shown up a few lines i have in my teeth but beggers cant be choosers.

Great to get the feedback Milly33. I read somewhere that Irish teeth are never white due to overdosing on cups of tea from an early age!! :)

That place you found sell cloned and boot leg bleach, the company that make that bleach don't sell it to them and are currently looking to where they are getting it, most likely boot leg stuff. Would not put it in my mouth.

Hi by boot leg do you mean fake stuff

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,108 ✭✭✭Jellybaby1

    'Boot leg' = 'dodgy'!

SDI the company that make the real product have said they do not sell to that internet crowd and do not know how its branded with SDI logos. I would not recommend using anything in your mouth that is not properly licensed & tested.
