Shares in a Private Company

Question for those who know more than me about these things (which is quite likely to be everyone here)

Several years ago I bought shares in an e-learning solutions company called ThirdForce
In 2009, the CEO formed a company called LearnVantage for the purpose of acquiring the issued share capital of ThirdForce.
There was an offer that involved the shares of ThirdForce being swapped for shares for ThirdForce, which is what I did.
So the company is now private.
    I’ve heard absolutely nothing since
I’m just wondering is there anything I can do with the shares, how would you know what they’re worth, or any info on them really.
    Cheers
