Noticed the knob on the heater control was giving a bit more resistance than usual this morning.
I had it on cold, then I turned up the heat and nothing, it will only blow cold now.
    Can this be fixed??
    Thanks for any help!!!

Is it A/C or just a regular fan/heater?

Cable has detached from the control knob most likely.

If that's the problem it's a pretty simple fix. It may simply have become detached.

You should be able to get to it or at least see if that's your issue by removing the Stereo. The Facia should just unclip then anyway if you need to get a better look. It comes off quite easily.

Is it not a case of what setting the air direction is set at though? If it's set to windscreen only, then the AC comes on automatically and that blows cold, least it does on mine. If you set it to windscreen and footwell, or windscreen and face level, the AC doesn't come on automatically. Either that, or check if the AC button shows it's on and just hit it off.

there is probably a solenoid for hot and cold on the bottom of the car around the engine this might be the problem

Not sure what your saying here as regardless of if the ac is turned on or not or where you have the air blowing, if you have the heat turned on it should blow hot air!

Hi, ive a 01 focus, the air is just blowing on my feet. I was wondering how you go about fixing it. do you go about it in the same way. The dial just turns freely but it feels like its stuck on the left. It was stiff but worked fine. Im sick of having cold then roasting hot feet, I just want my clear windscreen.

I'm afraid your car has a different dash. But saying that the knobs might work the same with a push rod of some sort. So I would say start stripping the dash if you know how and see whats going on behind the scenes.

Thanks, but that sounds like a lot of hard work and i wouldn't know where to begin. I taught it might be something easier.
