    Last years thread
    Website

    Anyone planning on doing this?

The race website has not been updated for 2012 but does contain info on the course and directions. More feedback on the race here and here seeing as last years thread is a bit lacking in posts.

yes i'm planning on doing this, missed ballycotton & will miss mallow by the looks of it so that's my last chance of a sub 60. might be tougher though?

By the sounds of some of the previous posts it is a tougher track.

Smaller crowd too than Mallow or Ballycotton so not as many people to hang on to

did this in 2010, was a really hot day for the time of year when i did it, the course goes through the burren which is nice, and the spread of tea, cakes, buns and sandwiches was great..... village runner loved it:) they had spot prizes aswel from what i can remember. its the toughest course of the 4 because of its slight ups and downs the whole way so its hard to get a rythmn going

did it last year and we had a headwind from mile 4 which made it harder. Its a tough course very undulating and the last 2 miles from Corofin to finish will drain you. I hope to get their myself all things going well.

I did all four in the series last year and found Kilnaboy to be by far the toughest. As I am cork based it was also the longest distance I had to travel by a long shot, so that probably didn't help. My time was almost 2 mins slower than Mallow, found it v v tough. Lovely country roads though, well organised, good spread afterwards and lovely part of the country to run in, so if it's not too far for you to travel, i would recommend it, although I won't be going back there myself this year!

Registered for this today (online entries closed at 6.00 pm).

Did it once before in 2008 so looking forward to it. I see a forecast of strengthening winds for Sunday afternoon so hopefully they'll hold off until the race is over.

Just under an hour to go now.....

There was some very light rain here in Corofin around noon and it's pretty cool with a breeze. Hope the rain holds off and that the wind doesn't pick up too much before we're finished.

Best of luck to all participating.

Definitely a tough course, lots of ups and downs...

Ran all 4 races this year and pb today in 75mins. Amazing what a bit of training will do...

Ran Ballycotton and Mallow and managed to take 4 minutes off my PB (set in Mallow) today in Kilnaboy to get in just under 80 minutes so quite happy with that, considering that it's acknowledged to be a tougher course than the others in the Munster series.

Well done to Kilnaboy AC for organising this and the spread in the hall afterwards was quite impressive!

Pity it doesn't get more publicity - apart from Boards it was very hard to find any mention of this race on the Internet.

Ran this race on Sunday, nice wee race with great support from the local community... they were all out cheering people on. 2nd 4 miles were tough into the wind but still got under the hour so I was happy.
