Harding's Cycles, Cork

    Nice article about Hardings cycles in a recent copy of the Guardian.

    My first fancy racer came from Harding's - Holdsworth 531, secondhand.
    Now "decommissioned" but I'm glad I didn't part with it last time I moved house. Maybe it will be restored someday.

    Did they actually manafacture the harding Bicycle? Their is an eight page interview in cycle sport with Pat McQuaid, good few pictures of when he raced, in one of the pics, his holding a harding racing bike.

    Im currently having a raleigh 531c restored in Cork, if your interested, i can give you the details.

    I don't know if they built frames themselves. The article does mention Mr H Senior working with a manufacturer in England.

    The same question occurred to me on reading the article. Was the frame built in Cork? Cantilever brakes back in those days is a surprise to me. I'd have guessed they were relatively recent.
