Where do you shop online?

As the title says, I'm thinking of doing some shopping for a lens or two, maybe a nikon 70-200 f2.8vr and a teleconverter, or maybe a 300mm.

That's beside the point, see the thing is I don't really know many online places, and after ebay and amazon I don't really know where to be looking. Secondhand is the same, there's not much on either adverts or donedeal and I don't know any other sites to look at for decent camera gear.

Any website recommendations for any would-be shoppers, new or secondhand?

Tamron and Sigma both make a really nice 70-200mm f2.8 zoom. (I have the Tamron with a Pentax mount) It's a really nice lens, and would be a lot cheaper than getting a Nikon branded lens.
I think I paid £900 or so for mine.

    Thanks Heebie.

I still need to do a fair bit of research about the telephotos. I'm more than likely going to get the Nikon 1.7 teleconverter anyway for macro work, so if I get a telephoto I'd like one that will definitely work with the teleconverter, which the nikon does. If the sigma works with it then that'll be perfect, time for more research! :D

Do you know any good online shops?

DigitalRev.com are apparently pretty solid to deal with (though I've no personal experience with them myself).

SimplyElectronics are cheap and cheerful, and although I've personally not had any issue with them, some people do complain (their after-sales care is non-existant apparently).

Amazon.co.uk are obvious, but you should also price check on amazon.de, too. You don't get free shipping but my Canon 70-200 worked out almost €100 cheaper from .de than .co.uk.

For Ebay just base your purchasing decisions on the feedback of the particular seller. MeKing (i think they're called) do a lot of accessories (brackets, reflectors, etc.) but not sure if they sell lenses (I get a lot of stuff off them and never had an issue).

Thanks for those, I'm going to check them all now.

I never would have thought about trying amazon.de.

I've used http://warehouseexpress.co.uk before. Their shipping to Ireland isn't cheap. I used to use B&H (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/) in New York City before, when I lived in the U.S.
I've also bought stuff in Prague at http://www.fotoskoda.cz/
Their site used to have a section in English, but I can't find it, and I was buying some fairly esoteric gear. (Carl Zeiss Pentacon-6 mount medium-format lenses to use with my tilt/shift adapters) I do'nt know how their pricing stacks up on more "normal" purchases.
