Hi everyone, I have searched for an answer to this question but I couldnt quite find what I was looking for, just wondering does anyone know exactly how much clearance from the ground a car must have to pass the nct, I have to book my car in for the nct but Im unsure as to whether its too low or not!

I have no idea but my car would be fairly low and it passed the last time with no issues.

When I use to drive the oul civics years ago they always passed with lowered suspension. I suppose if your car is not seasawing over speed ramps your good to go.

I have a Punto lowered (came like that) 50mm, it didn't pass its nct but not due to its lowness, bodywork issues. You should be grand once the wheels arn't tucked in the arches :)

    Basically, avoid this

Lowered 35mm should pass no problem.

Id say the only way a car would fail is if it is to low they cant get the lift to fit underneath it.

If they can't get it up on the brake tester it is too low for them and it will fail.

    35mm will pass no bother.

I have no idea im afraid it was lowered when i got it! Low enough to not be able to have any adult passengers in the back of the car and be able to go over any form of rise in the road!
