    Hi,

Im just wondering what experience/knowledge do people have of older people applying for graduate programs? from looking and talking to people at gradireland, there is no specific requirements for a lot of these grad programs and criteria and eligibility seems to vary from program to program. im 30 and about to qualify as a solicitor having completed my college degree (economics from ucd) in 2005. im considering at least applying for some of these programs as the job market for newly qualified solicitors is absolutely horrendous and ultimately i dont want to do private practice law anymore. this is something i am just considering for now but im curious to see what people think as regards "older" people applying for grad programs/jobs.

    cheers

30 isn't exactly old, all you can do is contact grad programmes you might be interested in and see what they say. I can't see why simple age should be any issue. I know someone who has recently done a MA and is now doing a PhD on a grad programme and is over 40.
