Fear Mongers on Youtube and Doom Porn

Astute commentator on economics and a man who served the elites speaks about the world ending sometime this year.

He wrote a book "The Energy Non-Crisis" published in 1980 but claims to have written 6 in total, mainly about his time in Alaska and being a pastor for what he calls "The Elites" which is very vague, but maybe that's the point.

As some of you might know, he appeared on Alex Jones a number of times and had the piss taken out of him quite thoroughly as he is known to have "bombshell" insider information which turns out to be rubbish...never the less, people still hang on to the hope he might have something interesting to say...some revelation about our impending doomsday yet never does (presumably cause I don't tune into AJ)

He seems more concerned about selling DVDs and if you watch his eyes, he's clearly reading from a teleprompter. (in the above video i mean)

So...you can see a pattern here with Mr. Williams and Alex Jones being complete utter fear mongers...of course, i know this but here's the thing, who here thinks people like Alex Jones are funded by someone out their with an agenda of their own?

Or are they just out trying to make a living off willing participants to their shows?

Another guy I find strange..actually rather annoying, is that Gerald Celente cnut.

I would not dispute some of the claims any of these people make but the way in which the information is delivered turns a lot of people off, including myself.

The issues discussed which are important end up being ridiculed....is that the whole point of funding people like Jones, Celente and Keiser?

Celente if some would recall was recommending everyone buy silver and gold and taking physical delivery...then we found out he had his money invested in ETFs
which are the paper equivilant, MF Global goes "bust" and he loses his savings..

Are they all just part of the same circus act or working independently to make a living out of scaring people? And Is it possible people are behind the scenes funding this sh!te? (with exception to Keiser who is paid by RT)

The conspiracy for me here is that you have specific people like Alex Jones, Max Keiser, Gerald Celente, Lindsay Williams and probably loads more all promoting economic armageddon with dollar crashing or the euro collapsing, buying gold and silver, ammo, guns...it must be overwhelming for a lot of people out there, constantly living in fear of quite possibly nothing...but tell me if I'm wrong about that.

okay! add your thoughts! comments welcome mainly from skeptics on this one :D

Just looking for your perspective of all the commentators predicting "end of the world" stuff.

The only pattern I see here is that all these people/videos seem to originate from the US.

Coincidence? I think not! <x-files theme tune> :pac:

That's true but I'm talking about how the content they discuss is delivered.

Some of what they discuss can have a solid foundation but then they deliver it in such a desperate histrionic tone that most people can't take it seriously and just dismiss it as nonsense...they lose credibility and damage reputation of others that might want to discuss the same content online in more constructive manner.

I've seen "tin foil hat" and "conspiracy theorist" used here on boards.ie to smear anyone that tries to discuss pretty serious topics.

Usually the protagonist has little to no knowledge of the topic and rather than try to understand it just dismisses as "tin foil hat sh!t"

Found some more examples of scamming by people on youtube spreading fear but this has been well known for while now, although these guys are doing it purely for the money.

Not so much fear mongering as pointing out probabilities and positives.

A bill has been passed in the US for 30,000 drone planes inside the US by 2015.

pretty impressive movement there but i don't want to speculate on what they're being developed for.

    As replacements for mules.

As for the videos, its doom-mongering and sensationalism - it sells well. Alex Jones is a very wealthy man. Much like Fox News.

Department of Defense are using millions of dollars building these robots to replace mules.

That would seem like the most likely reason for building them.

"The goal of this effort is to create legged robots that mimic animal structure, mechanics and control, in order to achieve animal-like strength, speed and mobility. The priority application is a robot that could eventually accompany Marines and other troops in the field as a load-carrier across nearly any terrain. This 15-month contract also includes 3 one-year options which would bring the cumulative value of this contract to $40 million if exercised."

That's what they are being designed for and that's the intended purpose.

Yeah, to assist the military and defence. Machines to assist in killing other humans.

You could use it as a robotic high horse. :D

Anyway, if you get your knickers in a twist about a robotic donkey you're gonna love this :

What complete and utter bollocks. So they're spending millions on a bloody robot that would eventually be able to carry one 10th of the load that an Abrams or Bradley vehicle can already do.
These things are going to be used to kill. Don't be so naive.

No, "BigDog" by Boston Mechanics is intended to be a robotic mule to carry loads in difficult terrain.

Same as Walkie-Talkies are "used to kill", same as digital photography is "used to kill", GPS, the internet I suppose...

Alex Jones is known for his critique of government. He says they engage in a technique which he calls 'problem-reaction-solution.'

Governments create a problem. The public reacts, with fear/anger/whatever, demanding that something be done. Governments provide the solution (which --according to Alex-- by some strange coincidence happens to be exactly what they wanted to implement in the first place).

It is a worthwhile consideration and quite a concept.

Alex does the same thing with his listeners.

He uses media to identify a problem --the 'NWO' in this case-- thereby instilling a reaction of fear, anger, and mistrust among his listeners.

He then provides the solution by selling them things that people in a state of fear, mistrust, or anger might buy: survival gear, colloidal silver kits, water filters, gold, et al.

Problem-reaction-solution... Alex is the master at that :D

Well, since this is a DARPA funded project, it's not beyond the realms of reason to believe robots would be used to kill people...armies already use drones to kill people, what would stop them using mechanical droids like PETMAN?

To say that it's irrational believing the military would use such technology to kill is extremely naive.

I can understand people would over-react to such developments, but to argue the military would never use the technology to kill people is rather silly.

    No one is arguing that.

Almost all military tech around the globe is used directly or indirectly to kill (or "defense" as they put it)

The maneuvering, balance and coordination in the robotic mule will no likely be of use to the US (or others) in developing unmanned robots on the battlefield.

However that is no more alarming or sinister than e.g. the development of gas at the beginning of last century.

Put it like this....if a robot does attack you, I won't be helping you out. lol :D

One thing I would add is that they look pretty weak...It'd be funny seeing the military try to use these as weapons, I'd destroy one in about 10 seconds...how much tax payer money is that down the drain?
    Good times ahead!

DARPA Robots = Junk (smashed to pieces to less than 10 seconds)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 93 ✭✭geeman

In the video for PETMAN, the technician pushes the robot like a pansy...you wouldn't push over a 2 year old with that amount of energy.

The only thing that wouldn't defeat these killer robots are physically inept and DARPA approved.

Watch that video where the scientist pushes it like a faXXot...these robots would be destroyed within 5 seconds.

Don't worry though, the military think they're the next hot military hardware product for 21st century.

To be perfectly honest, I find Lindsey Williams or whatever you call him more entertaining...atleast he talks about the Elites.

That reminded me a lot of Robocop 2 where they're introducing the new robocops and they all commit suicide.

I am deeply suspicious of the motives behind the fear mongering that Alex and others who are of the same thought seem to instill in his listeners. I think the real motive behind the increasing amount of N.W.O / Illuminati conspiracy theories stem from a deeply rooted racism in these people which is more often than not hidden under the guise of religious righteousness.

You do realise that soldiers routinely go to places where vehicles cannot, jungles, hills, rough ground, over streams etc. At the moment soldiers are heavily loaded down with all their gear. These things would mean they could travel further with more supplies.

They could be used for fighting and killing but a good burst from an Ak47 and it's all fizz, fizz splutter, clonk. Actually even for it's carrying job, they'll probably fall over a lot and break down.
