Thing is, there's some laptops that can go up to 16gb of ram - but I've heard you should balance ram with the amount of processors onboard - is this true?

Is there any other sites that would be worth a visit?

My laptop should ideally run decent games (I use steam a lot), but I also do a lot of media based editing and graphic design. Would ideally have it for 3-4 years.

    Thanks for reading,

No more than 4GB of ram is needed, you can always add more yourself easily for cheaper if needed.

That laptop has a great processor. The screen is a very good resolution The GPU however is run of the mill. If gaming is your main focus I'd recommend at least a GT555m or similar. Use this site to compare GPU's to the Gt555m http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GT-555M.41933.0.html.

Check other sites like saveonlaptops,Komplett and computeruniverse.

What games do you play? And whats your max budget?

Thanks for that, gaming wise I wouldn't be looking to more modern titles, as I enjoy games like STALKER, HL2 etc.

I'll take a goo now, compare some sites and let you guys know! Thanks for the reply
