Is there any books/notes that people are willing to share so that I can see what I am potentially leading myself in for?

A beginners guide of some sort would be useful.

    Thanks in advance.

    Fair play Mike.
    Best of luck with it.
Have you found an apprenticeship yet?

Apperently Mike has a masters in electronic engineering so an electrical apprentiship may be hard to get.
