    Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has been to Verona and Lake Garda? If so, what was it like? Thinking of bringing my mother here as a birthday treat in late Summer. I would like to stay in Verona for a few days and maybe get a bus/train to Lake Garda preferably the south part so as I read it's not as hilly (for my mother) as the northern part of the lake. Can anyone recommend a nice town to see at Lake Garda would it be possible to do a lake trip also in one day or would that be fitting too much in. If anyone has any recommendations of nice 3/4* hotels, restaurants, cafe/bars and sights to see would be great also.

I've stayed a couple of nights in Verona, but in a hostel type place.

Try a find out what is on in the Arena or amphitheatre, there is often a play or an opera on which I think would be lovely to see, it is such a brilliant setting. There is also a walking tour of the city available from the tourist info, which takes you to Juliet's house.

It is possible to catch a train to Venice from there as well, which adds a little extra.
