I want to see real madrid v cska moscow tonight

so I went to uefa.com registered, log in at the above website

it only cost €2.99 per match

the english premier league and the pay tv broadcasters should do this and it would stop ilegal activities and get more people watch their games worldwide
    in their homes

Not if it's pay per view. It would need to be sold as a package for people to buy into it.

Besides why don't you watch it FTA on Sat 1? You are FTAkeith afterall

There is legal Premier League streaming on Sky Go, though not on a PPV basis.

Sky tried to make Premier League PPV work for years with PremPlus. It didn't work. The problem is that although people might pay for Manchester United every week, they won't pay for Norwich or QPR. And as long as the Premier League continues to sell its rights collectively, they will insist that UK broadcasters feature every team for a certain number of games every year. Setanta only gets away with showing Liverpool and United every week because it doesn't broadcast to the UK.

Incidently it is only UEFA Champions League games on Setanta which are charged for. Games on TV3 and RTÉ are free to stream. The service is provided by the broadcasters (not UEFA) and apparently required as a term of the broadcaster's contract with UEFA. As Setanta is a pay-TV company they charge for the online stream.

Moving to Cable/MMDS/IPTV, since its essentially IPTV we're talking here (though we do allow discussion of Sky Go in the satellite forum since, although its an IPTV service, its included in the price of a Sky Digital subscription and this is the way most people recieve it).

it was provided by setanta sports ireland for uefa, but it used uefa world feeds and no mention of setanta at all

Good system; didnt realise you could steam the CL games on the UEFA website.

Id love to see a system come into PL football like they have in baseball in the US where for $100 a season subscription to mlb.tv you get every game of every team streamed live every night, with home and away commentary, full DVR functionality and a full archive of all games throughout the season. Unbelievable service. I know the way PL rights are sold is very different to the way MLB handles it (where each team sorts their own broadcasting) but its the kind of package I dream of for football!

It would be great and very popular but they get too much money selling exclusive rights to the likes of Sky etc.
