No such thing as unlimited on satellite, read carefully before you decide all packages are subject to "fair use"

You should check if there are any Fixed wireless access providers in your area, at least that would be broadband unlike mobile which seems to depends more on luck than anything else.
The limits on FWA are usually small(ish) too but usually much better than mobile or satellite.
Let us know roughly where you are based and maybe we can suggest a provider.

Sick of imagine with 3s yes 300ms ping times
Vodafone is running of Eircom / china telecom and If I choose to download public domain via piratebay I should be allowed to do so. I am not infringing copyright and sorry I like my <1960 movies

54 for 20MB seems ok to me
Would give me the same unmonitored night downloads...

Any stats and service experience from anyone

(I wish UPC puklled the last 500m cable but they have no plans... i would wait but...)

Pretty much everywhere between Millbrook and Castlepollard is in the National Broadband Scheme.
The cost to customers will be €20.32 per month for 40GB data allowance with out of bundle charged at 5 cent per MB. There will be a one-off charge of €49 for hardware. Satellite will be charged at €20.32 per month 11GB per month and additional data bundles can be purchased at €2.50 per 500mb. There will be a one-off charge of €49 for hardware.

Three* have a 3g mast nearby but...the scheme ends in August 2014.

*there have been lots of customer service issues on other threads.

Re: Onwave - there's no limit to how slow your connection can go, and mine has been so slow at times that I couldn't open a brouser to run a speed test. Onwave's response was "use it off peak" and "we're not responsible for the satellite service" - we'll they're responsible for selling it to you!!!
Disaster of a service - never again.
My advice - stay AWAY from OnWave!
