Kids have been messing with my laptop and now my desktop is in what i can only describe as widescreen ! There is about an inch above and below desktop that is just black, almost like a cinematic format if that makes any sesnse. Does anyone know how i can fix this, have a load of work to do and its really off putting visually if you know what i mean.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

They probably messed with the buttons on top (I assume now they are too small to actually change settings in the OS itself?).
Look for a button that looks like a screen and try that.

If that doesn't work, what laptop is it? Model number helps.

What OS? Right click on the desktop and select "Personalize" -> Display -> Adjust resolution. That's for Windows 7.
