Clean sweeping / Restoring my Sony Xperia X8 back to "like new" - Any tips?

I bought my Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 on Vodafone PAYG in November 2010. I've since ported over to Three. I now want to do a clean sweep and restore it back to a "like new" state. I'm hoping this will help with any lagging, slowness, etc. Have any of you done this and have you any tips to watch out for?? Thanks!
