    Hi all
I am looking to buy my first house and am totally clueless! I have mortage approval, so how do I go about getting a survey done? Also the house needs work, how do I find a builder to price it?

The work that needs to be done is; rewiring whole house (700 sq. ft.), insulating attic, move bathroom from downstairs upstairs and the rest is just decoration.

All advice appreciated as I am lost! :)

Best bet would be to engage a suitable professional eg. Architect or engineer to do a the survey of your house followed by preparing a simple schedule of works and specs that a number of builders can price. The arch or eng should be able to advice you on a number of reputable local builders.
