    “Usually when something is more effective, it also costs more,” said Aslam Anis, the lead researcher and health economist at the University of British Columbia. “What we found was that the new option, diacetylmorphine (medically prescribed heroin), costs less than methadone and is more effective.”

    You can actually live to a ripe old age and suffer no ill effects if you were prescribed heroin for the rest of an addicts life. People during the American civil war were routinely give morphine and they routinely got addicted, but they suffered no ill effects and had normal productive lives to spite taking the drug their whole lives.

    Its just street heroin is so laced with fillers and toxins which are bad for your health.
