Anyone know whether it's possible to apply for an April disc now for a car that has been off the road or do I have to wait 'til April to send off?

(will they print in advance?, AGS stamped form)

    Ta.

(I'd call them but they're still in bed :D )

You have to wait. If you want to tax for April and not for March then obviously the non use section of the tax form would have to have an April date stamp otherwise it would make a total mockery of an already widely abused system :D

Sure if they gave you an April to June disc now 'twould look like your car was taxed for March too :)

Even though following the exact letter of the law, you can be done for no tax if you display an April-June disc in march (its not valid until the 1st day of the 1st month of validity.

True, but to get it all back tax must be paid, as you say though, it's not actually valid, to the strict letter of the law :)

I have a terrible feeling that as soon as I take the car out on the road I will change my mind again about selling it.....

edit.... or, after forking out c.500 notes for 3 months motor 'tax' to have her sit in the garage it might bolster my thinking.

I thought you were leaving it off while the work was getting done.

I was in exactly that situation last year and the answer is that you'll have to wait for the 1st of April before AGS will stamp the form

I've gone through a good few decision points with it - can't seem to stick with one.

The M5 was never on the roadmap, just couldn't resist it. Was supposed to get something that I wouldn't want to work on  (or pay a fortune in motor tax)

So, now I have the M5 and I imagine I will want to be either detailing it all the time or gradually renewing it.

That means that the 8er will just sit there taking up precious space in my garage.

I was going to leave it up to chris in Sandyford for work before selling but that doesnt make financial sense (odd for me) so my current thinking is: -

    - put her back on the road in April (M5 tax is out end Feb)
    - do the few things I think it needs doing myself (pentosin flush, cleanup, maybe an oil change)
    - NCT
    - Sell with the rust spot

But, was in the garage today and I know I will find it very very hard to sell....

How much would you be looking for it, ball park, as is?

    Sadly, they are unwanted :(

I think I'll be very lucky to get over 7 for it. Will pitch at just over 8 I think and see what happens.

edit: I'd probably take 7 for it if someone rolled it out of the garage. The bloody suspension on it cost me almost half that boohoooo
