    Saw this in the Blessington Street Basin in Dublin the other day, and had never seen one there before. Can anyone tell me what it is please.

    It's a male Hooded Merganser..

    I hope this helps, I have photos of both male & female together but cant find them at the moment....

    I agree with Traonach, there are a lot of exotic, strange and wonderfull bird types showing up there all the time, makes me think that something is going on in that area. :eek::eek:

    We'll have to get Detective Sherlock on the case me thinks!!!!!
