    Hey

One of the ballast box for my angel eyes is starting to buzz when the lights are on, it is loud enough.

Will this make the car fail the nct? The lights still work perfectly?

Also if I go to replace should I just replace both and be done with it?

I think this is the one that I have:

Replace one, You can always replace the other of needed. But chances are you wont have to. Probably one is just boooshed.

I know nothing about them cos they just came with the car.

It effectively supplies the Xenon Elements with the correct power from the car. no more no less. Thats its primary role.

    That couldn't be a failure?

If it's the angel eyes that are going you need an inverter. A ballast is for a HID.

Unless you got some weird angel eyes.

EDIT: Also your link is for a 24v.

I have a silver box and then attached to that is a black one and I think this is it?

    http://www.convert2xenon.co.uk/xenon-accessories/20-can-bus-hid-warning-canceller.html

The buzzing noise appeared to be coming from the silver unit and from what I can gather that is start of it failing Jimdagym??

But it's a binary test. Go/no go. It either works or it doesn't.
Even something as messed up as the NCT couldn't fail you for something that might go. (could it?).

Not the point, What if it fails en route. Id rather repair something ahead of time rather than having it fail.

Repair after failure is the irish way though as far as automotive sector is concerned. Preventative Maintenance sure whats that ????

Where did I say that? Do we know the part is definitely failing? Mrs crilly takes care of her motor and if it needs replacing I'm sure she will.

Woh Woh, I wasnt saying you said that or that she had said it. I was using a global irishism in relation to cars.

Im sorry you took it up the wrong way.

I know that her motors are well cared for btw. For me if a part is buzzing where it wasnt before then its going to wrong way of right. So get rid before it fails.

All HID ballasts make a buzzing sound. Well all 4 of mine always did anyway. If your dims are off sometimes it's the ballast. If it's the angel eyes you will have a converter tucked away somewhere.

Just reread your first post. You are mixing up HID's and Angel eyes.

I wouldn't change anything yet. Mine haven't got yet. Listen closely to the other one. See if that is buzzing just less audible.
