Hi folks I'm looking for a nice hotel for a romantic night away from our 4 kids. This probably won't happen again for ten years or so so it would need to be somewhere nice with good food or if no good food a nice restaurant nearby. Somewhere that serves breakfast to the room would be even better. We don't want extremely posh though because we would like to be comfortable.

Thanks guys looking forward to any suggestions!!

Maybe try the rathmullan house hotel in Donegal
    http://www.rathmullanhouse.com/
Their restaurant is absolutely top notch, far far better than your normal hotel that has food for the sake of it rather than something that they want to be known for.
And the breakfast the next morning is the best I've ever had.
Its not a posh (stuck up etc) hotel by any means but its very very high service at the same time and the rooms and buildings are exceptionally well fitted out and maintained.

One of my favourite hotels is The Heritage

It is extremely comfortable and the prices have come down considerably :)

Agree totally. Just moved to the area and there is no hotel like it.

The Cliff House in Ardmore is not cheap but will be memorable. It also has one of the few Michelin Star Restaurants in the country.
