    Advice needed.
I will be joining a few of you boardsies for the mallow 10 on Monday , and am wondering about the art of Tapering?
Normally I'd do some 10ks to 16ks during the week with a LSR of anything between 20k and 30k on the weekends.(My attempt at Marathon Training)Now, I've enough sense not to do the LSR this weekend, but have planned a 12k run in the morning after work (wed) and I have planned another fast 10k on friday, but think maybe i should let that one slide to keep fresh for the race monday.
I'm aiming to beat my time from last year of 76mins , so any advice kindly recieved :)

    Thanks Mr.W

Instead of doing the fast 10k on Friday, you should probably do a 6 mile recovery run, with strides, however, I'd do it a little closer to race day, e.g. on Saturday. Then on Sunday a simple 4 mile recovery run should fit the bill.

How many days a week do you run? What Marathon plan are you following?

Night shift is a killer on the training alright..but off for the weekend, so might get to bed before 4am over Paddys weekend! :-)

Have gone from 3 to 4 days lately, with no specific plan. I took a plan off a buddy whose run a few marathons and try to match the weekly miles. I find im doing more miles per week myself comfortably even keeping the lsr at the plans recommended distance. Of course , strides, fartlek and intervals go right over my head !
