Galaxy Mini issue

    I presume this is the correct forum for this, but if not, please feel free to move it.

    I just got my hands on a Samsung Galaxy Mini but I'm having a bit of an issue when I have it connected to my laptop (through a docking station) by USB for charging, etc.

    Every now and then the phone makes a fairly quiet double beep and then all the USB ports on the docking station stop working and my laptop stops responding to any input, requiring me to shut it down by holding the power button. The power and ethernet ports on the docking station seem to continue to work though.

    So I dare not leave it alone whilst it's connected as it means my external HDD, which is also connected to the docking station, gets switched off and utorrent has to go through the process of re-checking about 1500 torrents before it starts working again.

    Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be causing this or how I can fix it?

    PS - I can't use the USB ports on the laptop itself as they haven't worked for some time.
