    Hi all,

I have a Renault Fluence and am travelling to the UK soon.
I want to change my speedo from kmh to mph.
The manual is no good and Internet searches only bring up meganes and other renaults. I've tried the advice for other renault models but they don't seem to work.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Have you rang the dealer? It's strange for a digital speedo not to allow you to use either measurement.

Otherwise you'll have to divide by eight and multiply by five to convert from kph to mph!

    Why go to the bother?

50 kp/h = 30 mph and 100kp/h = 60mph. Those two will cover the majority of speed limits and make other limits easily calculated.

Just to add, 40 mph is 65 kph and 70 mph is 112 kph.

Some day the Brits will join the 21st century and stop using miles like the rest of the world:rolleyes:.

I have owned two Renaults & a Citroen in recent years, all with digital speedo's. The common theme seems to be that you hold down a button (for 10/20 Secs) which rotates the display from Metric to Miles. On the Citroen I think the button was on the end of the stalk, on the Renault it was in the more common place on the Speedo itself sticking out of the display - Push the button several times to get "Total Distance" then hold down till display starts flashing . . . . . . then touch again to select MPH or Km/h, leave to set > and fingers crossed.

    Hope this helps.

+1 on holding the button at the end of the indicator stalk for a few seconds

    America?

We still drink enough pints for a country that's supposedly metric. You know how tall you are in centimeters? Fair play to them.

I thought our decision to go metric was typical of the cap-doffing attitude towards our political masters in Europe. The Brits have enough confidence to go their own way.

OP - if it's anything more strenuous than clicking a button why bother? It's easy enough to calculate as others have pointed out.

I'm pretty sure it's in the Megane manual anyway, it's something like holding the Start/Stop button down, (not sure if the card needs to be in) and using the stalk to change it.

Use a GPS and set the units to MPH.

While it's easy to say just convert the approx speed limits into KPH, I drive a good bit in England and it's a real pain not having the MPH clock so the GPS solves it.

put little stickers on your speedo to remind you, sorted.:pac:

    safe trip!
