Check out the following link http://www.randobreizh.org/VeloroutesVoiesVertesBretagneCarteReseau.php

There is a brochure available in Tourist offices for free detailing the routes. Beautiful cycle around the bay also as far as Cancale/St Malo. Nothing really taxing unless you want a real climb into Avranches. Even a return spin into Rennes is very doable along a wonderful canal track. Enjoy.
P.s. We are heading to the Dordogne this summer and just sent a mail to the local tourist office for info on cycling in that region and within 2 days I received several glossy brochures from them with all the info I would ever need. Try it yourself..............I think Rennes is the main office for that Region

You can't go wrong man. It's fantastic country for cycling. Tour de France hits Brittany this year as well doesn't it? No better place for route cues.

You have to ride up Mount Dol, lovely spot with nice bar/creperie at the top.
Very flat generally though if you take a spin a over towards the West Mur de Bretagne is a nice hill (Cadel evans won the stage there this year).
Overall lots of nice routes along the coast and inland around that area.
I've taken the bikes over by ferry (Irish Ferries and Brittany ferries) a good few times and never had to take them off the racks (with no problems).
Just be aware France is as bad as here for scumbags nicking bikes so if on a rack outside make sure they are well locked.

    Are you camping there btw?
The campsites around Dol especially are top notch and there are usually a few cyclists staying there who might be company for a few spins.

Afraid so, was through there last year and visits the area relatively rarely :(

That said there are almost always pro (1..1, 1.2 , 2.1 or 2.1 ) races within driving distance and local festival races in the local towns all the times.

And just to rub it in the Tour went through Dol in 2011 (was there )

Mount Dol is about 8kms north of Dol De Bretagne, the campsite is about the same distance south.
