    A australian construction company in perth advertised for a bricklayer but stated in the ad "no irish need apply"

    the immigration of our crafts people , builders and tradesmen this is the crap they will have to put up with now , im a craftsman and i worked in oz and canada we are the best of the best, this crap "no irish" is not on!!

    Yeah, the craftsmen of Ireland gave me some cracking quotes for basic household repairs during the boom. Best of the best? :D

    From talking to a friend who is in Australia for the last 14 years his view is that there are too many young Irish out there for a piss up and are not staying in jobs long or not turning up for work.

    Oh indeed, the very best, so good that it's not like you guys were extremely easily replaced when harder working, cheaper Eastern European labour turned up. Oh wait...

    I'm sure the company in question are missing out on something really special by not hiring Irish ;)
