Guatemala Dos Erres massacre soldier given 6,060 years

A court in Guatemala has sentenced a former soldier to 6,060 years in prison for his role in the massacre of 201 people during the civil war.
Pedro Pimentel Rios, 55, was extradited from the US last year.
He is the fifth former soldier to be convicted for the killings in the village of Dos Erres in 1982.

Just think, he'll be out in 4000 years if he's well behaved! :pac:

Sounds like a scapegoat pawn, a foot soldier who was picked out to be sacrificed on some kind of altar because that nasty right-wing regime needs to do a token bit of image improvement.:rolleyes:

Hundreds of thousands of people have been massacred in Guatemala, with the full approval and probably assistance of the CIA, but hell will freeze over before any military person much above the rank of corporal or any politician is ever held to account for any of the murders.:D:D
