My husband and I just moved to Clane. I was wondering what there is to do around town. We have a 10 month old and I am a stay at home mom. I live near the Westgrove Hotel. Just looking to maybe meet other moms in the area.

also wanted to know of a taxi company in town thanks!

Hi there, I used to live in Clane but I don't anymore, there's really not a whole lot to do during the day imho, I used to take my Son for walks up towards Clongowes Wood College and back..

There's the small Shopping Centre at Abbeylands and a little playground too..

There's a few decent restaurants.. Lemongrass upstairs from Xtra Vision, Zest at the back of AIB, Fagans at the back of Jones Bar, The Flaming Wok beside the Library.. I'd say most of the towns Socialising is done in the pubs.. Jones Bar is probably the most popular spot for young people.. if you're looking for something quieter then Manzors would be your best bet..

College Cabs or Billybobs are the 2 main taxi companies.. I don't have numbers for them to hand but I'm sure you'll find them online somewhere..

With regards to meeting other Mums.. Try giving Sheila the Public Health Nurse a call, there are Mother and Baby groups that meet up once a week or so as far as I know.. the Health Center is just up beside Heavenly on the corner of the main street..

    Good luck :)

Thanks! The Lifey is just around the corner so I can get out and take walks there during the day. We've gone up to the Abbeylands shopping center a few times already.

I'll look up the taxi numbers online, i'm sure I can find them.

The numbers of the two taxi's in Clane are:

    045-861855 & 045-861400

My wife met a few other mothers at the breastfeeding get together they used to have in the parish offices on the main street. Not sure if it's still there or not but you could always wander down and have a look.

Oh, and if you would like to pass away an hour or so having a portrait shoot of your little one then have a look below :)

Theres a nice walk along the liffey at the back of the alexandra estate. If you have a car go out to donadea forest park or carton house in maynooth. The abbeylands hotel has a fantastic swimming pool/gym.
Theres also 4 bookies if your so inclined..

Be careful at the Liffey, only last year a 14 year old boy drowned there x

He drowned diving into shallow water, so I'd say your average walker is probably grand.
