lost photos

hey guys i lost all the pictures off my camera they just vanished. i tried the memory card but thers nothing on it either. dya have any ideas on how i could retrieve them or is it even possible??

first thing to do anyway is take the card out of the camera, and leave it to one side. second is to download and install a data recovery utility - e.g. recuva. this will be able to locate deleted files, which have not been overwritten.

when you plug the camera into your computer, does it mount a drive letter? e.g. does it appear as maybe the e: drive on the system?
