I'd go (and have gone) with a crucial m4 instead. Great drive and rock solid.

Thanks guys, I'll check it out now.

Seems like a great drive all right. Now, I'm probably being a bit scroungey here but is it worth the extra 20 or so euro? I can see that in the reviews the M4 seems to win out. Any thoughts?

Also what set up are you guys using it in?

I was thinking of maybe going for the 64GB but I do want to dual boot Ubuntu so I'm not sure.

Performance is better than the Agility 3 and it's more reliable. It's definitely worth the extra few quid. Think about it, you'll be using this drive for at least 2 or 3 years, maybe more. What's an extra €20 for something that you'll be using a lot for a few years.

As for setup. 64GB Crucial M4 for OS/Applications with a 500GB drive for data (I replaced the optical drive like you are looking to do). Runs like a dream and starts up stupidly quick.

I run the 64GB M4 as a boot drive, in my desktop. Don't have a laptop with a 2.5" drive! it's perfect for that. Have to do a clear up every once in a while, but 64GB is plenty for most everyday apps.

I wouldn't boot two OS's off it though, well certainly not Windows 7 + other. Windows needs breathing space.

Yeah I'd like to be able to go for the 64GB, but I don't want to end up with needing more space. And I definitely don't want to end up putting Ubuntu onto the other drive.

Out of curiosity, which caddy did you use? http://hddcaddy.eu/ this one?

Yeah, that's the one. Just a heads up, that may not fit if you have a slot loading drive like me. I had to cut a bit off to make it fit. If you have the right tools it would be easy to do, but I had no tools so it took me ages and cut the crap out of my hand. Worth it in the end though. :D

haha sounds like you had some job at it. Well it says it fits my laptop type and there is a video of someone putting it into the same laptop as mine so I think it should be ok. I'd be prepared to do what you did in any case.

    Thanks again for your help.

i have an OCZ Agility 3 and I've had zero problems (well avoidable problems) I did create a few minor headaches for myself but none the less happy with the performance even tho it's bottlenecked with my SATA 2.0 Controller.. Tho i went for the 120GB model..I would advise you to be sure to get at least this 64GB runs out very quick.. especially after all the little programs add up. and defiantly if you want to dual boot. The crucial M4 might be a better drive but i got my agility 3 for >€100 so quite a bit cheaper than the M4 at the time and i stand by my decision
