    Hey,

I'm thinking of doing the Tour De Picnic this year. Did anyone do it last year?
    Was it well organised?

Did it a couple of years ago. Ride was well organised enough, great atmosphere, just be aware that your bike will be in a field for the weekend.

Was thinking about this myself. The missus has relatives in Stradbally, I'm presuming there wouldn't be a problem with leaving the bike there and taking it home myself instead of the whole taking to back to Dublin for collection thing (presuming that's what they usually do).

Did it a few years ago, great craic along the way and feels excellent when you arrive

Well guys, has anyone an idea of the routes the Tour has taken in the past? Going to do it this year!

Did it last year, serious craic. Off the bike and into the plunge pool (blow up swimming pool, with ice in it), and then a leg massage all the while sipping on a can of ice cool Heineken, which you're handed once you arrive into the field.

Excellent organisation for it last year, although i notice it's not been run by Temple Street this year so it might very well be different this year. Saying that I'm hoping to do it again.

Attached a map of the cycle last year. any questions give me a shout.

Wickd stuff, that map looks pretty cool! I'm a Kildare man myself so I know the bulk of the route fairly well from driving the country, that said, if it sticks to last years route it should be a bit of craic with the people pedalling beside us eh!

I'm pretty sure they lock the bikes up somewhere on the Friday night or on the Saturday morning. And there's a security guard at the gate all weekend.

I'm sure they have them guarded grand, but the year I did it, the weather was lashing rain for most of Sunday. I know I wouldn't like my baby to be out in that for a few days.

I mean they took them from those racks and put them somewhere else, as far as I remember. It was a hazy weekend. I had locked my bike there even though I didn't to the tour de pic and when I went to check on it the others had been moved. I may be wrong though.....

I guess they have to move them to pack them up at some point... but when I asked the organisers they told me the bikes were just left out in the open for the weekend.
