Why do you think that? Have you logged into your online account to see what credits you had and have currently? Do you know how to calculate what PAYE you should be paying? Dropping a P60 into your local tax office just creates another drain on stretched resources. You are looking at up to 10 week back log in some offices. If you login to your online account you can request a review for any of the last 4 years and get a balancing statement within 48 hours. If a refund is due it will issue within 5 working days automatically.

Register with PAYE online and ask for a balancing statement. You may get something. You may not.

My wife is good at this stuff, its part of her job. She has gotten tax back for several people in the family and at work and a huge amount for her boss. She then got me a big amount from an over payment on a redundancy.

She phoned the tax office for mine and within a few minutes had it sorted and the cheque was in the post. You will be warned on the phone that you could land up with a bill if you owe them :).

You use your pin to login to the online system and then do whatever you want. Watch the videos before using it for the first time. The instructions are all there, you just have to take a minute to understand them.
