i have the sky world package at the moment.

agent for a company in cork called to the door , said he was an agent for sky.

offered me the following deal for €49

- new dish
- 1 TB hd/3d box
- will set up multi room for me

said i have to cancel acc in my name and set up new one in wifes name, also said HD is going to be free in may. (costs 15 p/m at the moment)

i checked sky site and they looking for 149 for new 1 TB box alone.

what ye think? sound dodgy?! also said sky broadband coming in may and free for first 6 months for sky customers!

We had a thread recently about Sky Reps in Cork,they all seem to be spouting lies down there,HD WON'T be free in May,broadband might be on the way but certainly won't be here that soon.No broadband until Sky advertise it for here.

Cancelling one account & setting up another is fraud in Sky's eyes,not saying it doesn't happen but what the rep has told you is bull plain & simple.

A new customer can get a 1tb box for €49 now,HD together with multiroom costs €20,HD on it's own is €15 pm and multiroom is €10 pm (for 1st year)

Never, ever trust anybody who tries to sell you something on your doorstep.
Especially a Sky "Agent".
They'll lie to you to get a signature, so they get a commission, and they'll not be contactable when you realise they told you some fibs, and you're stuck in a contract for something else.
