Is the first year standard much harder than leaving cert applied maths? Can anyone give me any advice on the subject?

Which module are you referring to?

I meant the general applied maths taken as one of four subjects in first year in arts.

I took Applied Maths once upon a time. And yes, if I can be so modest, it was much harder than at Leaving Cert level. Of course I was focused on pursuing a different path so perhaps did not afford it as much attention as I should have had.

For the record I got a B2 in Higher Maths at Leaving, and an A1 in Applied Maths, so I was at that level, so to speak. However, it was not meant to be.
