Car pulling to the left

Does anyone know what would be making my car pull to the left?

The tyres are new and at the correct pressure. I just got the allignment checked and its perfect.

Could this be a sign of suspension issues?
Is this something I can check myself or should I just get a mechanic to look at it?

I currently have the same problem with my car. Just recently purchased new tyres and had alignment done but the problem persists. Funny thing is sometimes it pulls visously to the left while others it just pulls a little.

Remember due to drainage roads are cambered so you car will naturally pull left a slight bit.
This is more than a bit. This is the kind of thing that is making me have to keep a constant pull to the right on the wheel. I've never needed to do that in a car before.

try swopping the new tyres over i.e left one on the right etc.
see does it pull the other way.
might be a problem with the new tyres this will tell you.

I'm going to try that this evening, but I don't think it will make a difference as it was pulling to the left with the old tyres on too, but its worse now.

sounds like a suspension issue if that is the case. did they check for play etc before doing the alignment?

I just left the car with them and let them do it. I didn't see what they did or know what to ask when I picked it up.

I haven't noticed, I'll check on the way home. Seems to just be constant tho.

    How? Can I check myself?

I forgot to say that the steering wheel doesnt sit straight in the car, which I've been told could be the rear wheel alignment but it shouldnt be an issue.
    Is that true?

    Damn this thread.

Now I'm going to be paranoid, testing my alignment all the way home. :)

Do you have the same tyres all around on the car?

And did you have the front and rear alignment checked or just the front tracking checked do you know?

    what car is it?

where did you get the alignment done?

this is more than likely an issue with you tracking simply being done wrong...... the steering wheel was not lined up correctly before the alignment was done and this has nothing to do with the rear wheels unless you have a 4 wheel steer car???

The alignment of the rear wheels directly effects the action of the front wheels and the position of the steering wheel.

you may hale hit a pot hole causing your steering wheel to be thrown out of whack so the wheel being slightly to the right is actually its central position, its an easy fix if thats all it is but you wheels will have to be realigned if they fix the steering wheel.

I checked this yesterday and its no worse than the pull when I'm driving.

Yes, I got 4 Dunlop's on it last week.

I think it was only the front given the quote I got for doing it.

    98 Corolla.
A tyre fitter beside my work.

So is the consensus here that I should get all 4 wheels aligned and see then?

Your car has front and rear alignment adjustment so only doing the front is a waste of time unless the back is perfect.

THe person doing the alignment should have said to you if there was anything wrong with any of the steering components ie worn ball joint, track rod ends etc...

One tyre bigger than the other will pull to one side but as theyre all new we'll rule that one out :)

Are they all inflated to the correct psi?

I'll price round for 4 wheel alignment so.

He just said I should get a mechanic to look at it as he didn't know why it was pulling.
All 4 are at 32psi in accordance with toyota spec.

mine pulls left as well. i brought it to two garages. one said they could only do front wheels beforehand, told me after they couldn't fix it and didn't charge (thanks guys :) )
brought it to another one which was a bigger operation, told them the story, they fobbed me off with "ah yeah we did the full alignment that's all it needed" - of course it wasn't fixed

no idea where to bring it this time or what to tell them
