hi,i was just wondering is it acceptable to wear half your uniform, with your jacket over your shirt going to and from events like matches and concerts where you wouldnt have a locker...ive seen many reserves do it but im just wondering what the offical take on the matter is...sure would save a lot of hassle getting changed in the toilets when you arrive :)

Yes, it is ok to have your own jacket on over shirt and pants. we were given the official ok back in 2007.

My intake were told 'under no circumstances' should we wear half our uniform and half civilian clothes.
You must change into uniform at the station and take it off at the station before you finish duty. No exceptions

Both regulars and Reserve members wear half blues going to and from home, same going to events, you will need the rest of your equipment with you as well when attending events, if you are only going to station and you are lucky to have a locker other than your shirt and trousers the rest stays there, if you dont the boot of the car becomes your locker, just like other members.

Im aware that members wear half blues going to and from home, god knows I done it myself. But spoonay asked 'what is the offical take on the matter' and I can tell you that it is not allowed.
Its important that the people on this forum that are asking good questions get the correct answers that are in line with AGS rules and regulations rather than someones own personal experiences or opinions.

I think you need to get this clarified by your Ins, as i know quite a lot of Reserves that done training, and they where told you wear your half blues going to and from the station, when the reserves where only starting off that was the norm, you did not wear your gear, all that has changed since 2006, as with a lot of other stuff as well.

Half blue is not acceptable to management for full time members. Same goes (if not more so) for Reserves.

Just because its done doesn't mean its right. Its full uniform or no uniform by the letter of the law so to speak.

Above being said we don't discuss policy on the site.

It was clarified by my cig on my first day lol. You say you know a lot of reserves, out of interest, are you a member yourself?
