While I was looking for information about Rainbow Rapids and came accross this, as it was last discussed back in 2005 I want to start new one, (Mods feel free to combine the 2 if needed)

I want to know where was this located? was it just up from Dun Lair Dart station?

Remember going there when I was younger

It was a few minutes walk from Dun Laoghaire Dart station. Just down from the East gate of the people's park. Almost facing Teddy's.

The old dilapidated building still remains.

Around here, at the junction of Park Road and Windsor Terrace

So weird, I was only thinking about the same place the other day and had planned to start a thread here :D

I remember hearing stories of a young boy dying on one of the slides resulting in it closing down.. I wonder was there any truth to it?

That's the story I remember too but no clue if it's true.

My mother used to tell me that a boy lost his arm on the rainbow rapids. She wouldn't let me go down them :o

Yeah, I heard he broke his neck in a tube slide.. Maybe all the Mammy's were just telling us that so we wouldn't pester them to bring us..
