    A hoi hoi....

I currently have a Saris Bone 3 Bike rack which is great at its job, however i have upgraded to a full suspension bike recently and find it very difficult to load my FS onto the Bones 3.

Anywho....anybody here using the Saris bike bar (Saris bike Bar)or similar to load thier FS bikes onto thier bike racks? IF so how do you find it?

I have a towbar, i could also sell the Saris Bones and get something a little more sympathetic to the situation....

    Thanks in advance for feedback.

I've a saris bones 2 and I use one of those bars with my Trek Fuel Ex 6 - I couldn't fit it on the rack without it.
It works perfectly. Highly recommended - especially as it's relatively cheap.

That's reasurring. I was contemplating changing to another bike rack but will take the plunge and get me a bike beam instead.

You don't have any pictures of your setup per chance?

The best I can do tonight is show you pictures of the bar in the bike (which is probably no use to you, but anyway) - I'm feeling waaaayyy too lazy to walk down 4 flights of stairs, take the rack out of the car, set it up, lift the bikezzzzzzzzzzzzzz etc

Thanks man. I appreciate the pics. How do you secure the seat post to the saris bones? I've a canyon nerve and cannot use the seat post strap on the bones with the seat post downtube on my bike. Its not long enough. What way do you secure it? Thanks again.

If you get the bike bar extender, it'll give you far more room to play with - it's hard to explain, but before I got it, I had the exact same problem as you - now, it fits on to the rack perfectly and I can use all of the straps. I should be heading out mountain biking after work on Wednesday, so I'll take a picture then. Alternatively, if you're based near Dun Laoghaire you're welcome to drop over and have a look at the rack itself.

    Halfords do a similar bar:

    Might also be worth considering...
