Buying team kit on EBay

Does anyone have any experience purchasing from Chinese sellers. Price including shipping falls in around £30 for team jersey & bib shorts.

I know I'm getting a knock-off (Sure isn't everything made in China) but what sort of quality could I expect. Is it worth it?

    Thanks

I've bought a few times and it's certainly not the same stuff at a cheaper price! Some of it is absolute rubbish. Having said that I've ended up with some gear that I do actually wear and which was fairly good value.

You might be better off looking for nearly new gear that some other sucker bought in the wrong size:).

Or sometimes good deals at Prendas.

Sizing is the biggest problem as the chinese don't seem to have standard sizing. An irish xl could be xl from one manufacturer in china and xxxxl from another. From my experience, they do give sizing charts, but these are rarely accurate.

i got a set of tights and jersey last year more or less grand, but the zippers on the tights are pure muck. they have almost rendered the tights useless.

jersey is fine but doesnt have the antibacterial coating that you would get on a shop bought version. i did get a bit of a rash and itch couple of times on my arm which i put down to no coating

i dont think i would buy again, keep eye on proper cycling websites for deals

I got a kit off it this year. It's nowhere near as good as the real deal but for the money and price I can't complain. Fit is reasonable but not body hugging the way the real deal would be. One the sizing chart be careful. It doesn't quite add up. For example they had on one site that a bought off that the jersey was for a 106cm chest. It's quite a bit bigger than a 106cm chest and also the corresponding height and weight guides didn't match measurements at all.

All in all probably worth a punt for your shorter summer spins.

Personally I'd be more inclined to just save up and spend the money on a proper set of kit. Anything I've bought that was expensive has lasted me ages and been extremely comfortable to this day. They wash well and stand up to wear and tear very well too.

I always think I'm semi mad if I hand over a lot of money for something with cheaper alternatives, but I never regret it in the end.

Jerseys are fine, I wouldn't bother with shorts though.
    The chamois is usually rubbish.
