Guitarist/bassist looking to start ska/punk band

    Guitarist/bassist in Portlaoise looking to start/join ska/punk band to play covers and write original songs. Influences include sublime, rancid, choking victim, nofx, streetlight manifesto, chewing on tinfoil, upstanding youth etc

    Not really interested in flash guitar playing, just ability to play full songs, commitment and creativity. I'd like to write good solid songs and do a few covers. Most of all have fun and improve.

    Hey man. I replied to one of your threads before about starting a band in south Dublin but it seemed age was an issue for you. So you know I'm 22 next month...

    Anyway, if you're up for it I'd be willing to meet you halfway to jam (naas or newbridge) Under normal circumstances I'd have been able to commute to dublin but i'm settled in portlaoise at the moment. Pm if you're interested.

    Im a huge NOFX fan, also love rancid, lagwagon, propagandhi etc.
    Big influences from early blink, greenday, sum41, offspring.
    So yeah ska/punk is pretty much what I aim for :)

    Yeah, I'm still looking for people. If you're from Kildare/Laois or willing to travel then I'm interested. I can't be bothered going to Dublin anymore. I don't want the hassle of getting 2 or 3 buses just to rehearse y'know
