stephen roche challenge in 3hr 30min??

    hi lads,
    cycling since last october and getting out every sunday with 2 others for 50/60km,fitness level is pretty good.im planning to do my first sportive-the stephen roche atlantic challenge (in clare) in 2 wks.am i being a bit nieve to think i can do this in 3hrs 30min???its by no means the end of the world if i dont,just looking for a rough idea off u guys.

    Given that its 80K, that seems quite manageable, 25km/hr for 3.5 hours would get you 87.5KM. There are a couple of climbs so you'll be slower than on a flat route.

    Hard enough, two 180m climbs (cliffs moher and corkscrew)

    it doesn't tell you lots about it

    it is hardly only €1 to enter is it?

    Is Stephen Roche actually doing it?

    Will there be many doing it?

    Lastly and most importantly, will I be able for it, or is everyone going to gun it and leave me to saunter around on me own!

    I've done a few 40k spins no problem on my own, but the only hills I've done was once up Stocking lane and from Enniskerry up to Johnny foxes up the devils elbow (Which I found very very tough)

    if its any comfort stevieob,il saunter around wit u!!!!surely there will be strugglers,its still early enough in the season

    Myself and Mrs.Vanhire are for staying overnight and making a weekend of it !
